CRYSTALS AT CITYCENTER CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH DRAGONS, DANCERS AND DARING DECOR

Beginning January 7, the Flower Carpet located on the first floor of Crystals at CityCenter will be decorated with a 43’ long and 12’ high authentic ceremonial dragon chasing a pearl, symbolizing the dragon is always in pursuit of wisdom. The dragon will be surrounded by over 4,000 flowers and plants including China mums, guzmania finest red, vriesea splendens, oncidium orchids, citrus trees and bamboo.

 

 

FENDI DISPLAYS TIMELESS CRAFTSMANSHIP AND TECHNIQUES

Starting January 7th, Fendi will display their Fatto a Mano Selleria hand craftsmanship with an installation that demonstrates the tools and techniques that the design company has been using to craft products for almost 100 years. In addition to actual work stations and tools, there will also be video screens that demonstrate the process of creating Fendi’s timeless pieces from start to finish.

On January 17th in honor of Chinese New Year, Fendi will have their US Selleria Ambassador Craftsperson at the exhibit and the Fendi boutique at Crystals at CityCenter demonstrating the old world techniques that Fendi has been using since 1925.

This installation will be located techniques in an installation that will be located on the second level of Crystals, in between Todd English P.U.B. and Beso Steakhouse.

 

 

FLAGSHIP DOLCE & GABBANA WOMEN'S BOUTIQUE OPENS AT CRYSTALS AT CITYCENTER!

Opening January 20th at Crystals at CityCenter, the Dolce & Gabbana Women's Boutique covers a retail area of 6,500 square feet, making it the largest Dolce & Gabbana Women's boutique in the country. Traditional elements of the Dolce & Gabbana concept are illuminated by the bright lights of the video wall and incorporating facets of the iconic Las Vegas Roulette. The interior collections are revealed by two windows and a grand 18 foot front façade made entirely of glass.

A large monitor is complemented by a magnificent black chandelier in the baroque style which encompasses the history of Dolce & Gabbana. Women’s apparel and accessories collections along with the new Dolce & Gabbana fine jewelry line find space in dedicated areas. The ceilings are lowered in certain areas of the boutique to create a warm, relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere.

Through a portal of mirrors, we reach the "Vanity room": a burgundy damask room, where the Demi Couture collection and a special make up area are housed.

The Dolce & Gabbana Men's Boutique will open February 5th.

 

 

CRYSTALS AT CITYCENTER CELEBRATES CHINESE NEW YEAR WITH DARING DRAGON DANCE PERFORMANCE

On January 24, Crystals will join Aria in celebrating Chinese New Year with a traditional dragon dance complete with over 50 kung fu artists and Chinese performers. Ten retailers will take part in the traditions involved in the ceremonial dragon dance by feeding the dragon cabbage as a sign of satisfying its needs and giving the dragon a red envelope with money. Both customs are said to bring the participating member good luck and prosperity in the upcoming year.

The dance will start at 1:30 pm and will begin by Todd English P.U.B. restaurant and after making a complete loop through Crystals, will end at Harry Winston and head to Aria.

Jimmy Choo ICON Exhibit Exclusively at Crystals from November 4th to 18th

This multimedia exhibition will be showcased Nov. 4 – 17, on the second floor of Crystals at CityCenter near the ARIA lobby entrance, between Todd English P.U.B. and Beso Steakhouse. The exhibition consists of a collection of 15 of the most significant shoes from the company's archives alongside a capsule collection, 'ICONS', which are modern interpretations available for purchase. Among the shoes on display are 'Feather' immortalized by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City when she exclaimed, "I lost my Choo!" Also included is 'Macy', a satin sandal worn most recently on Academy Award® winner Natalie Portman, and 'Fleur', a classic pointy-toe stiletto worn by Tamara Mellon when she was awarded the Order of the British Empire by the Queen.

Multimedia exhibition elements take the visitor through a journey recounting each shoe's inspiration and significance in the company's history. An accompanying iPad presentation features original sketches, celebrity images, editorial images and selects from memorable Jimmy Choo advertising campaigns. A film by Marcus Werner, played on monitors inside the exhibition, adds a rich visual landscape to the display.

Beginning November 18th, Crystals will turn into a jaw-dropping winter wonderland with new exclusive holiday decor elements. Never before seen in America, white crystal-embossed LED trees ranging from 8-feet to 24-feet tall will be scattered across the center decorated with holiday boxes from various Crystals retailers. Crystals will complete its transformation into a magical holiday destination with 16 live trees coming from Mt. Shasta in Oregon and over 4,000 white and red poinsettias blanketing the stunning flowers carpets located between Halo and the Treehouse.

Phat Strad, the world-renowned all-female Electric String Quartet to Perform Thursdays thru Sundays starting November 25th

Unique, ultra-cool, slightly sexy, rockin’, elegant, beautiful, smooth, energetic, powerful, tres chic, versatile, visual are just a few of the words that have been used to describe PHAT STRAD, one of the acts Crystals at CityCenter has booked to perform this Holiday Season.

PHAT STRAD is an international cast of classically trained beautiful women who have developed their own unique sound by using futuristic electronic instruments to produce pop hits with an industrial strength club groove vibe and feel.

From November 25th to December 18th, PHAT STRAD will perform hits from the holidays and songs from their latest albums in their unique rockin' electric style, every Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm on the main stage on the first level of Crystals at CityCenter by Paul Smith.

OMEGA WATCHES U.S. and Tourbillon Present NASA Lunar Rover and Apollo 10 Spacesuit Exhibit at Crystals from October 14th - 21st

From October 14th to 21st, Crystals will feature a NASA Lunar Rover, an Apollo 10 space suit and a Mars Rover in the Aria lobby exhibit area between Beso and Todd English restaurants. The NASA Lunar Rover on display was part of all six lunar landings and continues to be a regular visitor to the International Space Station.

This exhibit will also feature OMEGA Speedmaster watches, the first watch worn to the moon and for nearly half a century has been the only chronograph approved for use on NASA's piloted missions.

The astronauts of the last three Apollo missions rode the Moon's terrain on the Lunar Roving Vehicle displayed, a four-wheeled transport that resembles a stripped-down dune buggy.

Astronauts from the landmark Gemini and Apollo NASA programs will join OMEGA and Tourbillon at Crystals to celebrate an exhibit featuring rare artifacts from the iconic space missions.

Friday, October 21st , Brigadier General Charlie Duke, who flew to the moon on Apollo 15, will join General Stafford and Captain Cernan for a public forum and panel discussion moderated by former CNN correspondent and journalist Miles O'Brien. NASA Public Affairs officer and founder of U.S. Space Camp, Ed Buckbee will also be on hand to provide additional commentary as he worked directly with astronauts from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions and has a wealth of information and stories to share with guests.

OMEGA and Tourbillon will use this unique opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of these great American heroes while showcasing a lunar rover, Apollo 10 space suit and mars rover along with Speedmaster timepieces for the Las Vegas community to celebrate these American Hero's and their invaluable contributions to space exploration and innovation.

The forum, hosted at Crystals at CityCenter, is open to the public and runs from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Oliver Peoples has been in the eyewear industry over 20 years and is famous for dressing Hollywood stars with his vintage, edgy and classically inspired glamourous sunwear styles.

IZOD INDYCAR World Championship Car on Display at Crystals

From October 2nd – 18th, Crystals will display one of ten historic IZOD INDYCAR World Championship cars in the main stage area, near Paul Smith. Two-time IZOD IndyCar Series champion Sam Hornish Jr. was driving this particular chassis at the time he scored enough points to win both of his season titles, finishing second at Chicagoland Speedway in 2001 and winning at the Texas World Speedway in 2002.

The 3.5-liter (213-cubic-inch) normally aspirated engine was badged as an Oldsmobile in 2001 and a Chevrolet in 2002. Scott Goodyear won one race with this car and Hornish four, Hornish also recording the fastest race lap of the 2001 Indianapolis 500 at 219.830 mph. Hornish won 19 INDYCAR races during the open-wheel phase of his career.
